I found a pencil sketch which I had done when I was about 20 (over 30 years ago) and decided to use it to create a dry point etching on acetate – using a nail to carve into plastic over the original sketch. Ink was then rubbed in before putting through a roller press. It was a process of working in detail to capture the delicacy and lightness of the feathers.

Created using chinagraph and Indian ink on mark resist sheets which were then copied onto silkscreens.
