Sixteen years ago, looking out to sea from Skye on a sunny late afternoon, I captured this scene with my camera - the sun glancing down through the clouds, creating ribbons of silver on the sea, a rock to the left and a distant tanker making its way slowly and apparently silently, across the water.
The technique used for this image is a monoprint – created by roller-inking a metal plate and rubbing off ink for the light tones. I have then taken digital prints of this one-off image.
